The top local stories this evening from KERA News:

Another round of cold weather has made its way back to North Texas. The region could see temperatures dip below freezing, a wintery mix and a chance at some light snow, according to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth.

Other stories the evening:

  • On this Martin Luther King Day, our national conversation about race continues. An important piece of that conversation is talking about the role privilege plays in success. Today on Think, Krys Boyd talked with Ijeoma Oluo, who says that recognizing one's own privilege is a step towards reconciling with those we oppress.

  • Over 100 Dallas ISD students from 16 different schools participated in Gardere MLK Jr. Oratory Competition . The children wrote about what their dream is for today’s world. Wesley Stoker, a fourth grader at Harry C. Withers Elementary, won the competition. We hear from some of the contestants.
