Back To School: Sights And Sounds Of The Big First Day Across North Texas

Monday is the first day back to school for many students across North Texas. Help KERA mark the big day!

Parents and kids, teachers and administrators: We want to see your back-to-school pictures; your Tweets; your observations of what’s happening; memories of school days gone by; anything and everything related to the first day of school.

Are you creative? Perhaps you want to send us a short audio postcard – just record yourself on your iPhone’s Voice Memos (in the Utilities tab) and email it to us at eaasen@kera.org.

Or write down your note about the first day of school and snap a picture of it and send it to us.

Tweet us at @KERANews and use the hashtag #KERAYearbook. Or send them to the KERANews Facebook page. Or email pictures and notes to us at eaasen@kera.org.

We’ll post them here on KERANews.org -- click the slideshow above.

Thanks!

Catch up on KERA's first-day-of-school coverage

Stella Chavez explored what it was like for refugee families in Dallas. Doualy Xaykaothao profiled pre-Kindergarten in Fort Worth. Bill Zeeble featured a homeless teen heading back to class. And Dianna Douglas chased after an energetic new principal at Fort Worth’s Polytechnic High. Here’s a look back at the sights and sounds of day No. 1. And the teachers are nervous, too – we profiled a teacher who’s not new to teaching but is new to Dallas.

Here's a look at what's been happening so far today:
