At least three members of the U.S. House are mulling a run for a possible U.S. Senate vacancy, should President Donald Trump appoint U.S. Sen. John Cornyn as the new FBI director.

Police estimate 3,200 people marched through downtown Dallas yesterday demanding an end to immigrant bashing and growing racial violence. The "Mega March" copied the rally of 11 years ago. That one drew a half million people. This much smaller crowd shared similar goals.

 

Two San Antonio brothers are taking center stage as the Texas Democratic Convention gets underway in their hometown. Congressman Joaquin Castro will chair the convention. U.S. Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julian Castro will be the keynote speaker Friday night.

In a state where Republicans control the legislature and all statewide offices, the Democrats are looking to the Castro brothers to help rebuild their state party.

Julián Castro, the San Antonio mayor who surged onto the national stage at last year's Democratic Convention, tells KERA he'll stay in his current job for four more years. But if Hillary Clinton comes calling, he's got a suggested running mate: his identical twin brother, U.S. Rep. Joaquin Castro.
