Fort Worth City Council members and top city staffers climbed onto a bus Tuesday and took a tour of the Stop Six neighborhood in East Fort Worth. On his first day as a high school principal, Josh Delich must have covered three miles before breakfast. He ran up and down the steps of Polytechnic High in Fort Worth -- through libraries, gyms, and the cafeteria --greeting students, encouraging his teachers, and helping the parents who were registering kids at the last minute.

Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings said over the weekend he wants the City Council to consider raising the minimum wage for workers employed by city contractors. The mayor's announcement comes after Dallas County is considering a similar increase -- and as cities and states across the country are raising the minimum wage, saying their workers should be earning more.

Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price gave her third State of the City address Thursday. Technology was what she came back to again and again in her 20-minute speech. 

"Technology is really changing the manufacturing landscape," Price said. "You're all reading about 3D printers and what they can do. But we have to think outside that box, beyond GE, beyond MOTO X, NGC. We have to start thinking about micro-manufacturing."

Winter's First Appearance In Forecast

The first winter weather of the season is on the way for North Texas.

National Weather Service forecaster Jennifer Dunn says this weekend will be rainy and windy. Then a cold front moves in.

Dunn: And that cold front is actually going to eventually allow cold air, near freezing temperatures to filter in North Texas which could bring a chance for some winter precip; maybe a winter mix of possibly some ice, maybe some snow on Monday.
