Early morning storms triggered tornado warnings in parts of Tarrant and Denton Counties. Winds of up to 83 miles per hour caused damage from Rockwall to Keller.
So far, reports include damaged homes, toppled trees and power lines. The National Weather Service will survey the damage to determine if a tornado touched down.
167,000 Oncor customers across North Texas are still without power. Thirteen schools in the Arlington district as well as all Mansfield schools are closed due to power outages.
