Top Stories: Severe Weather Expected Again In North Texas; Books On Parade At Festival

The top local stories this afternoon from KERA News: The National Weather Service map of North Texas looks like a  scary quilt right. Dark clouds have already rolled in from the south and the west, and forecasters say they could produce large hail and strong winds.

The Dallas Public Library in downtown is hosting a day long celebration of literature, arts and culture tomorrow. The event will feature an all-star literary line-up including Pulitzer Prize-winning Texas author Lawrence Wright along with 75 events packed into an eight hour show.

Other stories this afternoon: 

  • On Tuesday, the Texas Senator Ted Cruz's presidential bid cratered in the mid-Atlantic, he finished last in four of the five primaries. Donald Trump, the big winner, declared himself the presumptive nominee and had a message for Cruz and fellow candidate John Kasich.
  • The Dallas Stars’ NHL playoff push continues Friday night, they start their second round series at home against the St.  Louis.
