Pegasus Link Constructors
The Interstate 35E and U.S. Highway 67 corridor is the 17th most congested in the state.

The top local stories this morning from KERA News:

Road closures begin tonight for the Southern Gateway Project in southern Dallas County. The nearly $700 million project will rebuild and widen Interstate 35E and U.S. Highway 67.

The closures affect the northbound and southbound HOV lanes on Interstate 35E and U.S. Highway 67 just south of downtown Dallas. Those lanes won’t reopen until late 2021.

Other stories this morning:

  • The legendary Doug’s Gym in downtown Dallas is closing after almost 56 years in business.
  • In our Friday Conversation, we talk to Jorge Baldor, the quiet philanthropist behind some major Latino cultural and political efforts in Dallas.

You can listen to North Texas stories weekdays at 8:23 a.m. and 6:20 p.m. on KERA 90.1 FM.
