The top local stories this morning from KERA News: Lawyers for State Attorney General Ken Paxton will appear in court today to try get the federal civil fraud case against him dismissed.
A grand jury in Collin County indicted Paxton last year on state criminal charges of securities fraud. He was accused of misleading investors in a tech company before he became attorney general. The U.S. Securities and Exchanges Commission brought similar federal charges against him in April.
Paxton has denied any wrongdoing in both cases, calling it politically motivated.
