Top Stories: ExxonMobil Shareholders To Vote On Climate Change Resolution Today

The top local stories this morning from KERA News: ExxonMobil will hold its annual shareholders meeting this morning. They’re expected to vote on a resolution to push the oil company to disclose the risks of climate change to its business.

  • Tarrant County Sherriff Dee Anderson failed to secure the fifth and final term he was seeking in yesterday’s primary runoff election. He’ll be replaced by Former Dalworthington Gardens Police Chief Bill Waybourn. Mary Lou Bruner also failed to get the majority of votes in the Republican runoff for a seat on the State Board of Education.
  • UT Southwestern Medical Center just opened a $17 million microscope center – not the kind we used in science class, but super-powered microscopes.
