Top Stories: Evictions Delayed For West Dallas Residents; The Science Of Fried Chicken

The top local stories this morning from KERA News:

Hundreds of West Dallas residents will be able to stay in their rental homes for now. A state district judge yesterday ordered a real estate company to temporarily halt closing more than 300 rental houses.

HMK last month told the tenants and the city of Dallas it planned to close the properties after the city sued the real estate management company over substandard housing conditions.

Mayor Mike Rawlings advised residents to continue trying to pay rent. He also warned not to spend the money if HMK refuses their payments.
