Dallas, TX – TCU has big plans for Amon Carter Football stadium. Yesterday afternoon, the university announced a $105 Million Dollar renovation. KERA's Justin Martin has more.
The plan is to give fans of the championship Horned Frogs a more enjoyable gaming experience. It also aims to improve recruiting and fundraising.
The renovation is funded by donations, and will increase seating capacity to more than 50,000.
Suites, club seats and lounges will be placed on the west side of the stadium. Also, elevators and escalators will be installed for better accessibility.
Concession stands will be improved, and a new raised seating bowl will be installed for a better view of the field.
Construction is slated to begin after the Horned Frogs final home game in the 2010 season.
