In a press conference Monday morning, Dallas Police Chief David Brown provided several updates on the shooting, the killing of suspect Micah Johnson and the ongoing investigation.

Here are five things from the conference to keep you updated on the developing story:

1. Nine officers were injured. Previously, seven were reported, but Brown increased the total to account for two officers from El Centro College. So that’s five officers killed, nine officers injured and two civilians hurt in the attack.

2. The police killed 25-year-old Johnson with a Remotec Andros Mark V-A1. The bomb-delivering robot was purchased by the department in 2008 for $151,000, and still works.

Brown defended the department's use of the robot and said that the Johnson had "already killed us in a grave way, and officers were in surgery that didn't make it."

"This wasn't an ethical dilemma for me," Brown said.

3. Micah Johnson was killed on the second floor inside El Centro Community College. Police previously reported he was killed inside a parking garage. Eleven officers fired weapons at the suspect and two officers used an explosive device.

4. Authorities are downloading more than 170 hours of officers' body camera footage and collecting "countless hours" of dashcam video as well as talking to more than 300 witnesses as part of the ongoing investigation.

5. Brown said the department's taking all threats seriously for the sake of their families. He pointed to a threat he received from a private Facebook page to the Dallas Police Department's page that is being investigated.

Shortly after the conference ended, funeral notices for three of the five officers were published on the Dallas police blog.
