Folks on Twitter are reacting strongly to the news that Rangers Ballpark has a name change. Many aren't happy.
Goodbye Rangers Ballpark -- hello Globe Life Park in Arlington. Globe Life is an insurance company with North Texas ties. It's a 10-year deal, but financial terms haven't been announced. The Rangers were one of 10 professional baseball clubs that hadn't sold naming rights. (In 2004, the Ballpark was changed to Ameriquest Field in Arlington. That name lasted three years.)
Here's a sampling of responses to the new name:
Seriously? Globe Life Ballpark? I guess Highest Bidder Field was already taken. pic.twitter.com/s0l89NjUN7

Globe Life Park. A name that only millions upon millions of dollars in spending will make acceptable.

I don't really like the sound of Globe Life Park in Arlington. It'll always just be the Ballpark in Arlington to me. #Rangers

Globe Life Park in Arlington. Maybe now a dome could be installed and we can call it "The Globe." #TheGlobeInArlington
