A man recovering from a liver transplant who spent the day with his neighbor's granddaughter whose school was closed. A Lake Highlands family who's managed to make sledding a regular tradition. We headed out into the frigid weather and didn't have to search long to find tough-in-their-own-way North Texans. Hear for yourself.
- Stella Chavez found Ryon Hukill looking for Wi-Fi along with a bunch of customers at the Park and Preston Panera location. He tried four different Starbucks before he landed there, and three of them were closed. The other didn't have Wi-Fi.
- Dane Walters made it to Flag Pole Hill in East Dallas near White Rock Lake - sled central, if there can be one here. And there were regulars.
- I walked to Jupiter House in downtown Denton, and approached what I assumed was a father and daughter in line. Turns out Jon Frayling was keeping his neighbor's granddaughter for the whole day - and they'd been among the earliest to slide around outside.
- A common theme today: People weren't going to give up their coffee. Doualy Xaykathao found a couple in Arlington who made some on their barbeque pit after they lost power.
