The top local stories this morning from the KERA Newsroom: An independent panel has reviewed how Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas handled Ebola.

A year ago this month, Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital was treating Thomas Eric Duncan, the first patient diagnosed with the Ebola virus on U.S. soil. He died. Two nurses who treated Duncan contracted Ebola, and recovered.

Also, developer Alamo Manhattan unveiled revised plans for its five-story Bishop Arts development. The new look pushes back some of the taller buildings to fit in with the neighborhood’s one-story look.

Finally, a grassroots group with conservative leanings is focusing on Latinos in southern states. Daniel Garza from the Libre Initiative tackles what critics call ‘a hidden agenda’ in today’s Friday Conversation.

You can listen to North Texas stories weekdays at 8:20 a.m. and 6:20 p.m. on KERA 90.1 FM.

Former KERA staffer Krystina Martinez was an assistant producer. She produced local content for Morning Edition and KERANews.org. She also produced The Friday Conversation, a weekly series of conversations with North Texas newsmakers. Krystina was also the backup newscaster for the Texas Standard.
