North Texas sports headlines were hard to ignore over the weekend. Between the Dallas Stars and the Texas Rangers, three pretty big things happened. Let's go in order.
1. The Dallas Stars will host the 2018 NHL draft at American Airlines Center. The NHL and the Stars announced the news Saturday night. The first round will be June 22 and the final six rounds June 23. It will be a first for the team, who’s celebrating its 25th season in Texas after leaving Minnesota.

2. Ivan “Pudge” Rodriguez was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York on Sunday afternoon. He’s only the second member of the Texas Rangers to achieve the honor, joining Nolan Ryan. Rodriguez started his career with the Rangers in 1991 at just 19. Take a look back at his highs and lows.

3. Shortly after the Rangers legend was honored, the team’s current third baseman Adrian Beltre got his 3,000th career hit. He’s the first player from the Dominican Republic to reach the milestone and 31st major leaguer overall. According to the Associated Press, getting 3,000 hits has traditionally been a ticket to the Hall of Fame. [KERA News, AP]
