Dallas' Interim Fire Chief Gets Permanent Post

Dallas has named Interim Fire Chief Louie Bright to the department’s top job.

Bright grew up in South Dallas and has served more than 30 years with Dallas Fire-Rescue. He was named acting fire chief last July when Chief Eddie Burns retired following questions about his investment in an Arlington nightclub.

Bright will lead a fire department with some 1,800 employees and earn a base salary of $160,000.
