Dallas Festival Of Ideas Offering Free Programs Saturday

Dallas City Performance Hall/Facebook
Many of Saturday's events are happening at the Dallas City Performance Hall.

The Dallas Festival of Ideas has announced that its programming is now free today.

The event runs through Saturday afternoon. Organizers have consolidated the schedule and panels are taking place in three venues only -- the Dallas City Performance Hall, the Winspear Opera House, Booker T. Washington High School.

“In this inclement weather, we want to reduce the need for shuttles and ensure that all of our participants have easy and safe access between the venues,” organizers say.

The beer and barbecue dinner at 6:30 p.m. is $20 unless you are a ticket holder.

Event organizers say they will handle refunds starting Tuesday.

The opening event, “The Future Starts Here,” starts at 1 p.m. Saturday with opening remarks by Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings.
