Update, 3:12 p.m.: ESPN's Darren Rovell reports the naming rights deal with AT&T is worth between $17 and $19 million per year.

Update, 12:44 p.m.: The Dallas Morning News now reports that Cowboys Stadium will be officially renamed AT&T Stadium.

The name change is effective immediately.

Owner and General Manager Jerry Jones calls AT&T "an iconic American leader." You can read the full press release here.

Our original post: Cowboys Stadium could be in for a name change, thanks to a multi-million dollar deal with AT&T.

According to the DMN, the two organizations have reached a naming rights agreement.

The Dallas Cowboys have sponsorship deals with other corporations inside the stadium, but sources say the economy was too sluggish to sell naming rights when the new stadium opened in 2009.

Additional details are expected to be released later today.
