Big Step For Denton Transit

Dallas, TX – Construction is underway on the new Denton Transit Center on East Hickory Street. Groundbreaking ceremonies were held Monday morning.

Dee Leggett, with the Denton County Transit Authority, says the center will serve bus and rail passengers.

Leggett: It really shows that Denton County is going multi-model with an expanded bus network as well as bringing the A-Train online.

Leggett says the climate-controlled center will be ready for "bus" service this December. A-Train commuter rail service will arrive in the summer of 2011.

The first A-Trains will run between the Carrollton DART station and three Lewisville A-train stops starting this December.
