Immigration and Customs Enforcement

The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency arrested 153 undocumented immigrants in the South and Central Texas regions during its most recent round of immigration enforcement.

Twenty-four of those arrested were in the Austin and Waco area, according to  a release from the agency, and 64 were in the San Antonio area. The 12-day enforcement action ended Friday.

The agency said in a release that the vast majority of those arrested, 140, are from Mexico, while seven are from Honduras, three are from Guatemala, two are from Canada and one is from El Salvador.

ICE says 33 of those arrested will face criminal prosecution for re-entering the United States after a previous deportation. Of the 153 undocumented immigrants arrested, ICE says all have criminal convictions.
