With summer just around the corner, the nonprofit Trust for Public Land has released its annual ParkScore Index, which rates the park systems in the 100 largest cities in the U.S. Plano improved its score from last year. Unfortunately, competition from other cities caused some North Texas cities to slip.

The non-profit Trust for Public Land has released its annual ParkScore ratings, which ranks public park systems in the 75 largest U.S. cities. Plano scored the highest out of Texas cities, coming in at No. 17.

A new park system ranking puts Dallas and Fort Worth in the middle of the pack compared to other major cities. Dallas has more than average park space. The challenge is getting there.
