Nearly three days after Hurricane Harvey made landfall in Texas, more statewide resources were deployed to address rescue efforts in Southeast Texas Monday.

Tonight, the eyes of the Texas will be on the Rio Grande Valley when gubernatorial candidates Wendy Davis and Greg Abbott meet in Edinburg for their first televised debate. 

The Pentagon says Texas is the only state that is refusing to process benefit applications for gay and lesbian couples who are legally married in other states. A commander with the Texas National Guard cited the state's constitutional ban on gay marriage and is recommending the couples apply at federal installations.

Dallas officials and the Texas National Guard tore down their 105th abandoned home today. The Guard has helped many cities throughout the state clean up since 1993.
