Four years ago, Scottie Gipson dropped out of high school. He was selling drugs. His dad was in prison. Hope was hard to find. But eventually, he got a job and went back to night school. We profiled Scottie and five other North Texas teens last fall in a radio/TV project called "Students Speak Out." Today, as part of KERA's American Graduate initiative, we catch up with Scottie -- on his graduation day.

That’s the idea behind a series of instructional videos several North Texas school districts are offering parents. This new tool, called ReadyRosie, is getting preschool kids ready for the classroom.

Security breaches with iPads provided to Lewisville ISD students is an issue being debated by three candidates vying for an open school board seat. 

The Dallas Morning News looks at how the candidates would address the district's aggressive plan to put technology in the hands of students. All of the candidates are "critical of the security breaches and system crashes that have accompanied the initiative," The News reports.
