The family belongings of Dr. Kent Brantly, the Fort Worth-trained doctor who contracted Ebola in Liberia, are considered contaminated and will be destroyed, according to a statement Friday from the hospital where he studied.

A doctor trained in Fort Worth is now fighting for his life in a Liberian hospital -- a victim of the Ebola outbreak he was trying to battle.

There are nearly six million people in Texas without health insurance. The majority will be able to get coverage when the state marketplace opens in October, but not everyone. Undocumented immigrants won’t be able to sign up for health care through the exchange.
