Obama Wooing Texas Hispanics

Dallas – Thursday night, as Hillary Clinton was completing a rally among many Latinos in El Paso, some Hispanics backing Obama gathered at a favorite watering hole in Dallas. KERA's Shelley Kofler has more on the importance of their support.

Young Voter Interest Expected To Rise

Dallas, TX – The number of young voters has risen in every presidential election since 2000. And Political Science Professor Richard Nieme expects that percentage will rise yet again. He says Barack Obama's campaign is driving much of that new interest.

Professor Niemi: "That certainly doesn't mean he's captured all their votes. Just as Hillary Clinton isn't drawing votes from all the woman. But I think it's clear that Obama has excited a large number of people and particularly youths."

Obama Agrees to CNN Texas Debate

Dallas, TX – Democratic Presidential Candidate Barack Obama has agreed to a February 21 debate in Texas that will be broadcast on CNN and Univision.

Last week Hillary Clinton's campaign challenged Obama to a debate a week leading up to the March 4th primary.

Obama's camp says this is the only Texas debate in which he will participate. It will be held in Austin.
