Top Stories: Zebra Mussels Appear In Tarrant County, Mediation Ahead For FW Symphony

texasinvasives.org
Zebra mussels aren't quite this big-- they're actually about an inch long. Known to clog pipes and gather on boats this invasive species has appeared in several North Texas lakes.

The top local stories this afternoon from KERA News: Zebra mussels are in North Texas. Officials say the razor-sharp shells have appeared in the waters of Lake Worth and Eagle Mountain Lake. Flooding last year may have helped push the infestation down the West Fork of the Trinity River.

Members of the Fort Worth Symphony have been without a contract for more than a year. Negotiations with management have been contentious. And the two sides have now agreed to federal mediation.

You can listen to North Texas stories weekdays at 8:22 a.m. and 6:20 p.m. on KERA 90.1 FM.
