The top local stories this afternoon from KERA News: The Supreme Court today handed affirmative action a major victory by upholding a University of Texas admissions policy that includes race as a factor. The Supreme Court is also expected to rule next week on the final Texas case this session. House Bill 2 requires physicians performing abortions to have admitting privileges at nearby hospitals. Clinics must also meet the standards of ambulatory surgical centers. The ruling is expected to come down on Monday.
