Top Stories: State Lawmakers Tackle Bills On Fetal Tissue, Texting Bans

The top local stories this morning from KERA News:

The Texas Senate has given early approval to a bill that would ban the donation of aborted fetal tissue for medical research. The bill also would prohibit abortions in late pregnancy.

Meanwhile, the State House has tentatively approved a statewide ban on texting while driving. It’ll need a final vote before moving to the Senate, where a committee has passed a similar measure.
