Top Stories: Senate Republicans Awaiting Healthcare Bill; ‘From The Ashes’

U.S. Senators today expect to receive their copies of the healthcare bill today. Senators have complained about the secrecy of the bill, which has been drafted behind closed doors. However, Texas Sen. John Cornyn said the secrecy's necessary because healthcare has become such a partisan issue.

  • New census data shows Texas is one of the youngest states in the nation. Last year, the median age in Texas was 34.5, making the state the fourth youngest after Utah, Washington, D.C., and Alaska.
