Opening statements are expected to begin this morning in the federal corruption trial against Dallas County Commissioner John Wiley Price.
They were supposed to begin Thursday of last week. But one of the jurors became ill and needed to tend to her ill mother. The reading of the federal indictment – more than 100 pages – also took more than four hours.
Prosecutors say the Dallas County Commissioner accepted nearly a million dollars in bribes in exchange for insider information and his vote on certain contracts. Price has pleaded not guilty.
