Top Stories: 3 North Texas Students Arrested For Taking Guns To High Schools

The top local stories this evening from KERA News:

Authorities say three North Texas high school students face charges after bringing guns to campus a day after a deadly mass shooting at a school in Florida. Thursday's arrests happened at Marcus High School in Flower Mound, West Plano High and South Garland High.

Flower Mound police say a 16-year-old from Marcus High is facing felony charges for bringing a small-caliber handgun to school. Police said the gun wasn't loaded, but ammunition was found. 

Plano police spokesman David Tilley told The Dallas Morning Newsa tip was called in about a student bringing a gun to Plano West High. Tilley said no reported threats were made by the student.
