The top local stories this afternoon from KERA News:

Cars are lined up at some gas stations across North Texas, and fuel prices in the state and across the country have jumped by at least 10 cents since Harvey pounded Houston and the Gulf coast. Texas Railroad Commissioner Ryan Sitton wants nervous motorists to know despite the oil refineries currently offline, there's not a fuel shortage.

KERA's Courtney Collins went out to hear from people lined up at Dallas Chevron when it ran empty.

Other stories this evening:

  • A federal judge's decision to block the so-called "sanctuary cities" bill has immigration advocates in North Texas cheering. As KERA’s Stephanie Kuo reports, the fight to stop the law known as SB4 is far from over.
  • In museums, the folks in charge of conservation sometimes have to repair an artwork pigment by pigment, brushstroke by brushstroke. For this week’s Artist Spotlight, Jerome Weeks of our Art&Seek team visited Laura Eva Hartman, associate conservator at the Dallas Museum of Art. She’s been working on a series of paintings that haven’t been seen in a century.
