The top local stories this morning from KERA News: Thousands of residents and businesses in parts of North Fort Worth have been told not drink the tap water without boiling it first.
An operational error led to the draining of an elevated water tank – and a big drop in pressure in parts of the water system. That means harmful bacteria and other microbes could get in the water.
The affected area is bordered by Sendera Boulevard on the north, Willow Springs Road on the west, Haslet city limits on the east and Bonds Ranch Road on the south. It also includes the Trails of Fossil Creek and the Fossil Hill subdivisions.

Crews need to run tests before the water’s considered safe to drink.
The city says people in the affected area should boil water for drinking, cooking and for making ice. The boil water notice will be in effect into tomorrow.
All restaurants in that area are closed until the water notice is lifted. Fort Worth school officials have asked parents in affected schools to send bottled water to school with their children, if possible.
Bottled water is available at Wilson Middle School, Eaton High School, Fire Station 34 on Sendera Ranch Boulevard, and Fire Station 41 on Willow Springs Road.
