Top Stories: A New Dallas City Council; Overcoming Jet Lag

The top local stories this morning from KERA News:

The new Dallas City Council will be sworn in later this morning. The group of 15 includes new faces and the return of some familiar names.

Former council members Tennell Atkins and Dwaine Caraway reclaimed their south Dallas seats, after being term-limited. Newcomer Kevin Felder will represent District 7 - also in south Dallas. Omar Narvaez begins his first term representing West Dallas.

At last week's city council meeting, four ousted incumbents - Mayor Pro Tem Monica Alonzo, Erik Wilson, Tiffinni Young, and Carolyn King Arnold - said their goodbyes. 

The inauguration ceremony begins at 10 a.m. at Meyerson Symphony Center. You can stream the ceremony on the city council's website.
