The top local stories this morning from KERA News: President Trump is still popular with Texas Republicans, according to the latest University of Texas/Texas Tribune poll.
While 79 percent of Republicans said they approve of the job the president is doing, 92 percent of Democrats disapprove. Fifty-five percent of independent voters approved of Trump's performance.
Trump got better marks from men and white voters than any other demographic. However, nearly two-thirds of Texas voters said the country is more divided since he became president.

- Irving-based Fluor has won a federal contract to help restore power in hurricane-damaged Puerto Rico. Since Hurricane Maria struck a month ago, about 86 percent of Puerto Rico remains without power.
