Top Stories: Judge Dismisses Securities Charges Against Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton

The top local stories this afternoon from KERA News: A federal judge in North Texas “conditionally dismissed” a Securities and Exchange Commission lawsuit against Texas Attorney Ken Paxton. The suit accused Paxton of securities fraud in private Collin County business deals before he was elected statewide.

  • Reports of creepy clown sightings have rippled across the country over the last few weeks, and almost all of them have been debunked as hoaxes. KERA’s Justin Martin spoke with Tiffany Riley and Dick Monday who are a husband-and-wife team who clown around in hospitals entertaining sick kids. 
  • Since 1991, Kitchen Dog Theater Company has been a reliable source for original and experimental works in North Texas. The company lost its long-time home, and has been performing in different locations for a year, while searching for a permanent space.   • In Dallas on Friday, the new interim police chief made his first public comments today since taking the job. David Pughes, a 25-year department veteran, made an unusual debut, talking with reporters while sitting in an easy chair, and acknowledged some of the challenges ahead.
