Top Stories: Fort Worth Police Officer In Critical Condition After Shootout

Heavily armed Fort Worth police officers on the scene in west Fort Worth where an officer was wounded March 15.

The top local stories this morning from KERA News: A Fort Worth police officer remains in critical condition after a massive manhunt and a shootout yesterday that left another person dead.

Another officer told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram Officer Matt Pearce was “awake and alert.”

Ed McIver, Sr. was killed in the shootout yesterday afternoon. Authorities later captured his son, Ed McIver Jr. He faces charges of attempted capital murder, evading arrest and unlawful carrying of a weapon.

The two ran off from police after they recognized the father had outstanding warrants against him.
