Top Stories: Fort Worth City Council Will Debate Joining Sanctuary Cities Lawsuit

Jorge Sanhueza-Lyon/KUT News
The passage of Senate Bill 4 during the legislative session has prompted scores of protests and lawsuits.

The top local stories this morning from KERA News:

The Fort Worth City Council today will hear presentations at a work session about whether to join a lawsuit against the state's new sanctuary cities law.

So far, Fort Worth is the largest city in Texas not to do so. The city council won't make a decision today, but it will likely give staff direction on what’s to be done next.

Dallas, Houston, Austin and San Antonio have already joined the suit filed by Maverick County.
