The top local stories this evening from KERA News:

As KERA’s Bill Zeeble reports, the Dallas school district is in favor of the senator’s plans.

Other stories this evening:

  • The internet has changed the way humans learn, process and retain information. If you can’t remember the capital of Australia – you can quickly look it up. Today on Think, Krys Boyd talked with author Ulrich Boser about the difference between knowledge and learning.
  • A recent study has shown that guilt, social pressure, and even a doctor’s recommendation wasn’t enough to motivate low income families to vaccinate their teens for HPV – or the human papilloma virus – and new research from North Texas shows promise in a technique called self-persuasion. Professor Austin Baldwin led the study at SMU, and he joins KERA’s Justin Martin for a look into the research.
