The top local stories this morning from KERA News: It’s been a year since a video of a white police officer taking down an unarmed black teenage girl in a bikini after a neighborhood pool party set off a wave of protests in McKinney.

The video captured Eric Casebolt cursing, throwing then-15-year-old Dajerria Becton to the ground, and pulling his gun on unarmed teenagers who had rushed to help her.

Becton and her attorney yesterday called for authorities to file charges against Casebolt, who resigned after the incident. Authorities haven’t charged him with a crime since the case is still being investigated. However, Becton and her attorney yesterday called for authorities to file charges.

The Texas Rangers forwarded the findings of their inquiry to the Collin County district attorney’s office in January.  Prosecutor Bill Wirskye told local station WFAA the case is active and "there is an expectation to present the case to a grand jury."

Other stories this morning:

  • Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump will visit Dallas and other major Texas cities next week to raise funds for his campaign. This’ll be his first appearance in the state after becoming the assured nominee.
  • And in the final chapter (for now) of our American Graduate series, “What’s Next for the Class of 17,” we check in with Ricky Rijos, Jr. He’s had to give up some dreams and make new ones.
