A Dallas County grand jury today is expected to hear an aggravated assault case against Roy Oliver, the former Balch Springs police officer who was fired after he shot and killed a teenager in April.

The unrelated assault case stems from a traffic accident two weeks before Jordan Edwards' death while leaving a party.

  • Dallas County officials at today's Commissioners Court meeting will discuss a major error made in estimating property tax revenue. The Dallas Morning Newsreports the mistake leaves the county $13 million short of the money expected for paying bills.
