Study Up For 'Think': The Roots Of Teen Pregnancy, In 'Boyfriends'

Things don't happen how you plan - especially if you don't have a plan.

In anticipation of our conversation about teen pregnancy on Think, let's meet some young women who let us in on their visions of the future. If they can't see themselves down the road ahead, teenagers are more likely to have kids before they're ready.

Young women from different socioeconomic backgrounds shared their feelings about relationships with SujataDand for the KERA documentary 'Boyfriends.' It's a close-up view of a crucial time in the life of a young adult, when goals are often upset by ill-advised bonds or lack of self-esteem.

Watch the film and see how important it is to encourage girls to find power within themselves:

'Think' host Krys Boyd talks to Dr. Joanna Gentsch, who teaches human sexuality at UT Dallas, and Dr. Mandy Golman, an assistant professor at Texas Woman’s University on the show at noon.

Listen to 'Think' at noon and 9 pm on KERA 90.1 Monday through Thursday.

Lyndsay Knecht is assistant producer for Think.
