Dallas, TX – Attorney General Greg Abbott says the sampling for DNA testing of the adults and children from the compound will be completed in the next couple of days, but it will be WEEKS before the results are back.

Abbott: "And then we can work on the appropriateness about which children should stay with which Moms. And it's complicated by certain other factors. And that is it is inappropriate to send a child back into a home environment that's proven to be dangerous for children - where there may very well be sexual assault taking place."

The Attorney General defends taking even infants and toddlers away from their mothers.

Abbot: "As long as the Moms are insisting on taking children back into that environment where sexual assault is recognized as a norm, the state has to be very concerned about that type of situation."

State officials claim young teenage girls were forced to marry older men and at least 20 were 16 or younger when they became pregnant. Kevin Dietz, attorney for 45 of the compound mothers, maintains the state roundup violated basic due process standards.
