The home ice screen showed the score against Anaheim Monday as the victorious Stars gathered on the ice to celebrate.

The Dallas Stars and goalie Kari Lehtonen shut down the top-seeded Anaheim Ducks 3-0 Monday night in the third game of their best of seven playoff series.

Stars fan Taylor Nowell said he expected a win after Dallas lost the first two games in California.

“I thought the energy of the place inside was probably going to carry them and the guys were going to play a little smarter," Nowell said. "We’re trending up, we haven’t been in the playoffs for five years. No one picked us to even make it out of the top 10 in the West. So we’ll just keep surprising everybody.”

Aubrey Mims said the Stars may be the underdog, but she wasn’t surprised by the shutout.

“Absolutely not. We’re on our home ice right now," Mims said. "It’s bound to happen that way. Strong offense, strong defense, it’s what you need.”

The Stars aren’t the only Dallas team in playoffs. The Mavericks play the second game in their basketball series against San Antonio on Wednesday. They lost the first match. Also Wednesday, the Stars play the Ducks again in Dallas
