Pipe Break Closes Dallas County Courthouse

The Frank Crowley Criminal Courts Building is closed to the public until Monday. A water main break in an electrical room flooded the first floor and knocked out all elevators and escalators.

Officials say it could take a few days to get the elevators back in service, but the building is expected to be open to the public on Monday.

At the height of the emergency, a jail inmate helping with clean-up “walked away.”   Deputies are looking for Juan Ramires who was in jail on misdemeanor charges.

No word on what cause the pipe to break.
