Former US Education Secretary Margaret Spellings talks to Rick Holter in today's Friday Conversation.

In today's Morning Edition local block from the KERA Newsroom: We’ve been following the plan to remake Dallas ISD schools known as “home rule.” Rick Holter gets to the source of the controversial plan and talks to someone who had a major role in writing the home rule law: Former US Education Secretary Margaret Spellings. She now heads the George W. Bush Presidential Center. And Jerome weeks finds the dark side of world-renowned Japanese artist Takashi Murakami, who makes childlike, whimsical images in the "kawaii" style and just screened his debut children’s film Jellyfish Eyes at the Dallas Museum of Art.
