The top local stories this evening from the KERA Newsroom: It will be a packed weekend for football with two college football championship games and the Cowboys' playoff game against the Packers.

Also, many questions surround the earthquakes that have rattled North Texas; BJ Austin talks to some experts for the answers. 

The worries over earthquakes has brought renewed interest over fracking bans, which Texas lawmakers will have to grapple with when they meet next week. The Texas Tribune's Jim Malewitz has a preview.
