From The Newsroom: Michael Hinojosa's Wait Is Over; High School Hoop Dreams

Dallas ISD

The top local stories this morning from the KERA Newsroom: The state-mandated 21-day waiting period for incoming Dallas Superintendent Michael Hinojosa has ended. The Dallas school board is expected to vote on Hinojosa’s contract later this evening.

Also, we’ll check in with a member of the Class of ’17 who has a tall dream: to get on his school’s varsity basketball team.

Finally, Caitlyn Jenner’s very public transition from male to female put a specific surgery in the spotlight, known as facial feminization. KERA’s Lauren Silverman explains that the procedure, at times, can be just as much art as it is science.

You can listen to North Texas stories weekdays at 8:20 a.m. and 6:20 p.m. on KERA 90.1 FM.
