The top local stories this evening from the KERA Newsroom: An afternoon earthquake in Irving shook houses all the way to Dallas. The 3.5-magnitude quake was strong enough to rock chairs and rattle windows. People as far north as Plano and Denton felt it.

And while psychopaths reportedly make up about 1 percent of the country, they occupy nearly 4 percent of its management positions. These figures are part of a study co-authored by Craig Neumann, a professor of psychology at the University of North Texas.

Finally, with temperatures in the teens expected Wednesday and winter weather potentially in the forecast by week’s end, folks traveling to town for the college football championship game better pack a parka.

You can listen to the top local news stories weekdays at 6:20 p.m. and 8:20 a.m. on KERA 90.1 FM.
